蒔絵・桜花爛漫(おうからんまん)

「桜吹雪が隅田川、鏡に映す花筏」。桜は下に向かって咲き、その艶やかさを我々に誇るが如く。満開の桜から葉桜へと美しく散りゆく様を表現し、桜花の儚くも短い一生が読み取れる作品。

“A shower of cherry blossoms falls on the Sumida River and a flower raft is reflected in the mirror.” Sakura blooms facing downward to boast its glamorous beauty to us. A brief life of cherry blossoms is portrayed on the pipe by describing the flower in full bloom and the falling flower with young leaves.
